Worship in Spirit and truth
Worship
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24
We are created to worship God.
But worship is not just a few songs we sing on Sunday, and it’s not about an emotional experience. Worship is about putting everything else aside and looking to Jesus, praising Him, trusting Him, lifting Him up, and proclaiming who He is, no matter what is happening around us or what situation we are in. Worship in Spirit and truth is a life surrendered to Him.
Prayer
Prayer is partnering with Heaven to see God’s will be done on earth. But to pray from the right perspective, we need to first allow His thoughts on how we should pray to come.
When we turn our eyes to Jesus and start to worship Him and proclaim who He is, our attitudes and perspectives change. When we worship, He will show us what He is doing in a certain situation. And then we can join Him by praying that way. That is when we start to pray from Heaven to earth instead of from earth to Heaven.
